In the last six months we were very privileged to work with British Council Malaysia and some great educators at SMK Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang school on the development of an Innovation Clubs resource pack for secondary schools in Malaysia.
We were delighted to be able to work with some very dedicated and innovative teachers in Selangor and train them in design thinking principles and in the activities we developed in our resource pack.
In the course of the three days we worked with Malaysian teachers we introduced our problem-solving framework, the TRIAL Model, and other effective tools for project development that we hope these innovators will be able to use with their students in developing their own Innovation Club activities and to share them with other educators in Malaysia.
We were delighted to see how enthusiastic the delegates were and how hard they worked throughout the workshop, with some fantastic results.
The purpose of our resource pack and training was to develop more independent and divergent thinkers, who are able to access higher order thinking skills and apply them to new and unknown problems. For Malaysia this is an important goal, as they are trying to encourage innovation across all sectors, so they can compete with the largest economies in the world.
We have created a short iMovie Trailer to give you a flavour of what happened in this workshop and to see some of the amazing people we worked with. Enjoy!
