 The Times Education Supplement report (10 September 2010), showed that the professional support provided to teachers is ‘haphazard, poorly planned and poorly assessed’. Continuing professional support is often ‘unstrategic, disjointed and erratic’ and ‘lacking in overall coherence’.

Surveys of teachers indicate that they are highly critical of the CPD activities generally provided. One in four primary teachers finds the CPD of little use. The figure is even higher for secondary teachers. Teachers say that there are not enough opportunities for developing classroom teaching or subject updating – activities we would see as at the core of professional learning. (takenfrom http://www.newvisionsforeducation.org.uk )

We are different – we aim to develop teachers’ and learners’ skills and understanding of why, when, and how to use the best technology to support excellent teaching and learning.

We offer a range of consultancy services, each aimed at achieving a positive impact on outcomes that is sustained over time.

Our CPD Options

  1. We are experts in independent learning, developing outstanding lessons, extending the gifted and talented, flipped lessons (what is this?), science, maths, developing thinkingiPad integration and the effective use of whiteboards. We can offer these as one-off courses to the whole school or individual departments.
  2. We develop whole school deployment of technology and improve learning by carrying out an audit and working with individual teachers, departments or the whole school to develop and enhance a coherent policy that is realistic and sustainable.
  3. We will develop hub schools as centres of excellence that act as training centres for other schools. This is our preferred model. This allows us to deliver training, modelling best practice, teaching and observing lessons.

We will carry out an audit for learning and the use of current technology before we start.
